In this job my role was to keep the factory floor clean and affient to work in, i kept count of all stock , what was needed and most of all kept the boys busy. In one month we managed to build 29 deli counters and delivered and fit them in less then a month. In this job a lot of our work was from muskerrys or cross.. we mainly done counters but we done all sorts of work for likes of Dunnes or tescos , supervalu, butchers, mood ice cream stands and so on I could keep going.along with my duties i was training lads in cutting notching and folding all the steel. Collecting essentials delivering and fitting units when needed.
In this job I was learning all the basics of metal work , from cutting box section to sheets such as legs counter frames , tops , shelfs, channels , fascia , drip trays , ice welds etc.. a lot of the work here was mainly bar work we done a lot of work for a contractor from Guinness which supplied alot of pubs , restaurants in the greater dublin area. I learned about and how to use a lot of heavy machinery , drills , tools, welding etc..
Time-ing was a key essential in this job. I was mainly a service engineer as I was in training. We held contract with DCC to maintain and service all gas heating appliances throughout Dublin. This job did not only learn me diagnostics of broken heating system and how to repair but my knowledge of D.C. streets is a plus. I learned how to deal with customers whether angry or upset when we left a job all was happy with work Wed carry out it was not only up to the standards but also customers satisfaction. I learned how to use numerous tools and I achieved my G.I.S certificate and my G.I.D certificate. Id be still in this job now to this day other then being let off on temporary leave as to there being no work at the time in 2010 as the contract with DCC was being held off from lack of funding.
