Mr Preet Burton

St Joseph's College
"" It gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to recommend Mr Hiranya Pooran since he is worthy of recommendation. I have known Hiranya for 12 years in my capacity as his school teacher and eventually as his private English tutor. He has always been an amazing student to teach and has tried hard to deliver the goods. He took great pain to ensure that his work was well presented and that the content matched the requirements of the questions. He is an avid reader and has often discussed French literature as well as aspects of psychology with me; he always tries to know more about what is being taught and his passion for music and photography made for many essays that I enjoyed correcting. Hiranya also has many other outstanding qualities. He shows much respect for elders; when he was studying in France, I remember that he came to see me during the holidays here in Mauritius to give me a book that he had bought for me because he knew I would like it. It is a number of little attentions like this one that really sets him apart. He has a great personality and is sure to show maturity and a strong sense of responsibility all the time. He has been involved in quite a few extra-curricular activities and participated in the Model United Nations Competition. He asked me many relevant questions and dedicated much of his precious time in finding statistics and arguments for it. Doing well and presenting himself with dignity is a must for him. I will not hesitate one bit to recommend Hiranya for any post he may apply to or course of studies he might want to go into. He will definitely prove himself to be a valuable asset to that institution. ""
