Promostore is one of the largest suppliers of promotional products (merchandise) in Germany.I was responsible for marketing, the development team, the web site promostore.de and the in-house built ERP-system. Improved the speed of the Magento web site by optimizing (PHP version, caching, 301 redirects, optimizing database queries, redis, http preloads). I improved the internal development workflow (GIT / deployment / CI). Also I initiated migration from in-house hosted E-Mail (Exchange) to Microsoft 365 and Sharepoint. Other projects included search engine optimizing (SEO) of the Magento web shop, improving conversions on the webshop and improving UX / usability, and preparing the migration from Magento 1.9 to Magento 2.4.

I started and founded Pinkcube GmbH mid-2012 in Berlin, after having co-founded Pinkcube BV in 2009. Pinkcube GmbH grew out to be one of the challenging players in the promotional products market. Started with no employees, a small office space of 15m2 and growing to a team of 8, an office on the Karl-Marx-Allee and  € 1.5M revenue in 2018. We did this by setting up the best web site in the industry (based on Shopware), and very active innovative Adwords advertising. Selling promotional products to B2B customers through dedicated web sites for product groups. These products are printed with buyer's company logo, and then drop-shipped from manufacturers directly to the customers. As founder and CEO I was responsible for hiring a good team, Adwords campaigns, developing the vision for the web stores, payroll, administration and financing, and have learned almost all there is about starting and running a company in Germany. Pinkcube GmbH was sold to Promostore in 2019.

At Online.nl, a division of T-Mobile, I was responsible for the Online.nl web site front-end and Online.nl customer registration platform; with a team of 8 people. This was the order street for home DSL internet connections through the online.nl channel. I managed and advised in functionality, usability and all technical aspects of generating leads and sign-ups. We made sure registrations of new customers were as smooth as possible. This included using API's to our backend-systems and many other external vendors. Also I was responsible for the customer facing of the web site online.nl (marketing / sales tracking).After the acquisition of Online.nl by T-Mobile in The Hague I helped rebranding Online.nl to "T-Mobile Online", and integrating the backend and registration system to T-Mobile's backend.

We started a company selling promotional products (B2B). We have rebuilt the ordering process from the ground up. At first using 25+ web shops for each product category, later rebuilt to an advanced custom made platform built on Magento. We thought that ordering promotional products should be easier, better and more transparent, and improved the whole process as one of the first in this market segment. Pinkcube is now one of the largest and well-known suppliers in the dutch promotional items market.

I started a web site development agency during my bachelor studies, which grew to around 15 people. We were developing web sites for small and medium sized businesses. At first (1999/2000) mostly HTML business-card-type sites, and later on sophisticated e-commerce and CMS platforms, mostly using open source frameworks such as Joomla, Typo3, Wordpress and Magento and using PHP, Javascript and MySQL.As CTO I was responsible for the team and development. I also helped designing web sites using Photoshop, and helped improving usability and conversion. Also I worked as a web consultant helping our clients improving their revenues using internet.
